Title translates to: "Are you deaf?"
"Estás sorda?" is a saying Venezuelans frequently use to express annoyance. I'm pretty familiar with that phrase I would say, it was often said to me when I had a hard time understanding or just engaging with the conversation.
I used to space out a lot trying to memorize what was being said to me, that way I could have "full understanding" and answer appropriately. This painting is inspired by that one person that said "do you have an amusement park in your ear or what?" When I was 11. That day I went home and cleaned my ears, only to find out that the earwax wasn't the problem. She got real creative I'll give her that. ;b
